LOVE SUFFERS LONG

Patient love bears offenses.  Yet it is not indifferent, nor does it ignore wrong.

LOVE IS KIND

Kind love reacts with goodness and tenderness toward those who have been unkind or ungrateful.

LOVE DOES NOT ENVY

Unenvious love applauds the blessings and successes of others without feeling jealous or resentful.

LOVE IS NOT PROUD

Humble love is not overly self-confident or insubordinate to others. It is not characterized by a sense of self importance or arrogance.

LOVE DOES NOT DISHONOR OTHERS

Polite love cares about others, their customs, likes and dislikes. Would never act dishonorably or disgrace another.

LOVE DOES NOT SEEK IT'S OWN

Selfless love puts the good of others before it's own and does not insist on having it's own way.

LOVE IS NOT EASILY PROVOKED

Tender love is not touchy and does not have a temper.  Does not rush to anger when others do it wrong.  And does not hold a selfish concern for it's own rights.

LOVE THINKS NO EVIL

Pure love puts the best possible construction on the motives and conduct of others. It is not malicious, censorious, disposed to find fault or to impute improper motives to others.

LOVE DOES NOT REJOICE IN EVIL

Righteous love does not justify wrongs so they appear to be right.  Is not happy to hear bad news about others, and is grieved when evil triumphs.

LOVE REJOICES IN THE TRUTH

Truthful love cheers whenever the truth wins out.  It is glad to know that suspicions where unfounded.   Believes the best and is glad when the verdict is "NOT GUILTY."

LOVE BEARS ALL THINGS

Protecting love will always deal with faults of others in a safe way, that won't bring harm, shame or damage, but will restore and protect.

LOVE BELIEVES ALL THINGS

Believing love gives others the benefit of the doubt, sees the best in others and trusts in their good intentions.

LOVE HOPES ALL THINGS

Hopeful love is not pessimistic.   It looks forward with confidence to that which is good and beneficial.  Expecting that the person will be better and do better the next time.

LOVE ENDURES ALL THINGS

Enduring love continues to love despite resistance and opposition from the unloveable.
